Are you ready for some magical colours with Washi X 35mm film?
Washi X is a technical colour film with no orange mask that gives beautiful warm tones and highly saturated pictures.
More information comes directly from Film Washi:
"This kind of colour film stock is very specific because there is no orange correcting mask (invented by Kodak in 1947) which gives to the picture very rich and warm tones. It really takes us back to the days of early colour films like the first Agfacolor"
We'd definitely agree that look is similar to those first colour negative films of the 40’s & 50’s!
And while the typical chemical process is C-41 we are assured that you can also develop it in E6 to get a slide image (with a change in colours as expected from cross-processing)
Sample pics (c) Molly Kate aka Eclectachrome half-frame and FilmWashi. Molly shot a couple of rolls on a half-frame camera and has also pulled together her thoughts into a cracking video review of the film, embedded below with permission:
When you buy your camera film from us we can ship it across the UK, Europe, USA, New Zealand, Australia and Canada (more countries planned soon!) So buy Washi X 35mm Film today and dive back into the fun of colour film photography!

A film that feels like summer
Its warm tones and rich colour give this film a real lazy summer afternoon feeling. The lack of an orange mask infuses a halycon quality without loosing a sense that, whilst it is based on old chemistry, it's a film for now. I really love this film, especially on bright spring / summer days. (Whilst it advertised as C-41 or E6 I have had it developed as C-41 so far)

experimental small project, trying out filmwashi, and wanted to see what the film was like, liked the idea of a 50's vibe and was not disappointed. great film, and was a fun project with washi. great quality images and texture. great depth of colour. location was at Liverpool, using my old Olympus trip 35.

Honestly a surprisingly decent film for both night-time and daytime shots, under the right lighting conditions it makes warm tones absolutely pop!
I found myself in Yarmouth for work, and with no other film I accepted that the photos might turn out disappointing, but it just highlighted the reds more! I'm by no means an expert, so in the right hands this film could look stunning.

Must try on something a little more imaginative
This is another great film you've never heard of.
Even messing about taking pics of cameras hanging off a door against an old jacket you can see how sharp and grain-free it is.
I'll try it on something a bit more grown up when that stops raining.
I do need to get out more.
